Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day! Originally a religious feast day in the 17th century, the holiday honors the patron saint of Ireland, who is credited with bringing Christianity to the country in the 5th century. Over time, it has evolved into a global celebration of Irish culture and heritage. One of the most famous symbols is the shamrock, which legend says St. Patrick used to explain complex ideas using its three leaves. While the original color associated with him was actually blue, the tradition shifted to green in the late 1700s as a symbol of Irish pride and nationalism. Don't forget to wear green tomorrow!
Attention students attending the finance field trip, please leave your permission slip with Mrs. Kane in room 212. Slide under her door if it is locked, or email Ms. Green or Ms. Carson if needed.
The Peter Evans Alumni Association Scholarship is now open to apply. The scholarship is a $1,000 one-time grant to a graduating senior from Career High School who MUST BE A RESIDENT OF NEW HAVEN. Attention all Juniors, the SAT exam will be on April 1st. To prepare for this, you should log into Blue Book with your College Board account or your PSAT registration number and start taking practice tests. Our dry run day is scheduled for March 25th during advisory. Save this date, and come to school on time with your laptop charged. We will conduct a readiness check and get you set up for testing. Students who miss the dry run day are more likely to experience technological issues on test day. If you have questions, please see Ms. Plair in the guidance suite.
Attention Sophomores! While you may not be thinking about Prom and Senior year yet, your Student Government representatives have! To that end, they've narrowed it down to THREE choices for Prom for 2028. It's now up to you to choose which location you want to have the prom at! Prom will be on Thursday, May 25, 2028. Time to be determined. Please select ONE choice on the Google Form posted by Ms. McCarthy in Google Classroom.
